Peter Hoffer

Peter Hoffer est un artiste visuel canadien né à Brantford, Ontario en 1965.

Il est spécialisé en peinture et détient des diplomes du Ontario College of Art and Design de Toronto, de l' Université de Guelph en Ontario ainsi qu'une maîtrise en sculpture de l' Université Concordia à Montréal..

Ses oeuvres font aussi parti de collections publiques de musées tel que le Musée des Beaux Arts au Quebec.

Peter Hoffer

Peter Hoffer was born in Brantford, Ontario, Canada in 1965 and is a Visual Artist specializing in painting.
He holds degrees from the Ontario College of Art and Design in Toronto,
University of Guelph Ontario, and a Masters degree in Sculpture here in Montreal.
Many of his public works are exhibited and collected by Museums such as the
Musee des Baux Arts in Quebec.

The surfaces of Peter Hoffer’s landscape and abstract paintings are coated with a highly reflective resin varnish. This material was chosen as a means to create tension between a painted surface and refined encapsulation. This packaging of the “objet d’art “ stills a moment in space and time and eludes to an item of value, not unlike religious reliquary
